Dr. Debra Clark is an Associate Professor of Communication & Digital Media Studies at the University of Houston Clear Lake (UHCL). Dr. Clark served as a communications consultant for Major League Baseball in the area of emergency preparedness program design and implementation, and currently, Dr. Clark encourages public health education through the creation of public art campaigns and venues (typed, penned, brushed or filmed!). She is also a Post Graduate Fellow for the Council of Science Editors and was inducted into Phi Beta Delta as an International Scholar.

Previously she worked abroad in development, marketing and public relations. She spent three years in Europe, almost a year in Mexico and six weeks in Oman working with government and local business communities developing new global markets. In the USA, she maintained a career as a journalist for several magazines and newspapers. Her publications cover a vast array of subjects from architecture in Nashville to research publications. Whilst pursuing her graduate degrees, she was employed as an Organ Recovery Coordinator and Hospital Development Specialist. This experience gave her the opportunity to gain, "invaluable first-hand experience," in Emergency Room Trauma Management, hospital development and marketing activities, during which she also obtained post-graduate teaching opportunities that would guide her into a full time teaching and research career.
