Michael Hviid Jacobsen

Michael Hviid Jacobsen is Professor in the Department of Sociology and Social Work at the University of Aalborg in Denmark. He has edited or co-edited books such as: Bauman beyond Postmodernity: Critical Appraisals, Conversations and Annotated Bibliography 1989-2005 (2007); Encountering the Everyday: An Introduction to the Sociologies of the Unnoticed (2009); and The Contemporary Goffman (Routledge Studies in Social and Political Thought) (2012). Michael has a PhD in Sociology; has taught for several years at University of Aalborg and other prestigious universities in Europe. He has authored several monographs including one on the life and work of C. Wright Mills. He has also co-authored a monograph titled “The Fall of Public Place” with Nilesh Chatterjee.
